Evaluation Comments for Broucke P

  1. I am in love with Pieter Broucke. He is intelligent, soft-spoken, and a sweetheart. He is very unorganized and he actually admitted to me that he doesn't read papers, but what I learned from this class has been very useful. The class isn't just the usually survey of architecture. Instead, you learn why monuments and buildings are important historically and structurally. I can now sit inside a building and tell you all of the different classical motifs being used. In addition, the class has an application component which I felt was effective. Instead of stopping at the abstract concepts of classical architecture, Pieter has us give oral presentations on the classical aspect of buildings on campus. This is a good class. Pierer is a great guy.
  2. I'd recommend this class to those looking for an easy A. I thought that some of the material was interesting, but the professor was very unorganized and pretty bad at elucidating assignments.
